Dear wider Piedmont North Carolina Community,
I have an idea...Many young adults, and people of all ages, are facing unemployment right now during this coronavirus pandemic. Those people (myself somewhat included), are at risk of going into debt to make ends meet, and I have a solution. I am proposing that we create a gig-culture around making our state cleaner of refuse and trash that litters our streets and streams. I would like to encourage we create a fund using gofundme.com to reward individuals $2 per full trash bag of litter cleaned up from our state.
This activity maintains all requirements for social distancing, and participation in our project would require those involved to abide by any cdc recommendations. Most cleanup work can be done in the woods, along empty trails, or the side of a road no one typically walks, so this activity is relatively safe, and it makes those facing unemployment financially safer...
With a supportive community willing to contribute a dollar here, a few dollars there, or whatever they are capable of contributing, we could supplement young professionals, and other people out-of-work, with needed funds for daily living. Also, this work is my passion, and I would be willing and capable to lead the project. Want to participate??? Just text me (919)259-9567. Send me a before picture. Do your cleanup, and then send me an after picture with the bags. I will send you via PayPal, Venmo, Cashapp your reward. Anyone taking a reward will be responsible to claim their gig-income on next years tax filing. This is how it would basically work.
This is an uncertain time, but it is also a time to keep faith and hope in the future. I think this project would bring a lot of opportunity to make that future cleaner and better in different ways. I have years of experience doing this same work in a different capacity, and I am the ideal candidate to facilitate this project for our state. Including many aspects that will make this project successful.
Thinking of being one of the first supporters of this work? Well, let me tell you that *small* groups have the unique opportunity to do BIG things, and they can even influence others on a wider scale, so join in while this is small.
Cleaning up litter and refuse is undeniably a part of our future as well, and it is my intention that with this project that we live in the future, and that we do this necessary work. When we make our streets clean, and streams free of plastic, it will have a greater impact on our lives and wellbeing; all for a few dollars.
I hope you all take care, and I hope you will share this opportunity with friends and family so that we keep moving forward!
