Help a young, aspiring woman to survive! In Bosnia & Herzegovina, Aleksandra suffers from a rare disease that will be fatal if not treated as soon as possible. Her family's resources are already used up, and the health insurance in Bosnia does not help any further. Every little amount helps.

This is about Alexandra, a young woman, only 25 years old, from Bijeljina, Bosnia&Herzegovina, who severely got ill within the last two months. The doctors prescribed her the wrong pills in July this year. Polycythemia has occurred due to the high amount of estrogen in the pills, causing the JAK2 gene to mutate. Due to this mutation, the bone marrow began to produce too many red blood cells, the blood thickened, this created thrombosis. Blood clots clogged the liver veins causing liver cirrhosis. She suffers from the so-called Budd-Chiari syndrome, a very rare condition.
Before that, Alexandra had been a hard-working Biology student with hopes and plans for her future and career. She had always been healthy, always strong and an inspiration for others. The disease and complications struck her from out of nowhere.
In Bosnia, there is no clinic suitable for this case; the doctors are helpless. Now she needs to go to a specialized clinic for transplantations in Zagreb, Croatia (300 km far away). Her health insurance does not cover the costs — neither for the current medication needed to survive nor for the checkups. And, not even for the imminent liver transplantation. Her parents both lost their jobs this year, and she studies biology without any income. Since July, they have paid over 7700€ for the treatments, in a country with an average monthly salary of 350€. They gave and sold everything they owned to save their child's life. Now all possible resources are used up, but the fight for the life of this young woman has just begun. We are now trying everything to collect the necessary funds that will enable her to live and survive.
Therefore I ask everyone who would like to change something and do something good to donate and to give her a second chance in life. Now, they need help to fund their trip to Zagreb and to afford vital medications. Her medicine costs 200€ every day. She has to undergo treatments to have water removed from her abdominal cavity regularly. Next week, they will know about the next steps and how much further surgery and the transplantation will cost.
Without our help, she will not win the hardest fight of her life all by herself. It's up to us; it's up to you – our support can change her whole future life and destiny. We will be forever grateful!

U Bosni i Herzegovini, Aleksandra je oboljela od teške bolesti koja će postati fatalna po njen život ako se ne počne liječiti što pre. Porodica je već dala sva moguća finansijska sredstva za njeno liječenje, ništa im više ostalo nije, a zdravstveno osiguranje ne snosi troškove. Svaka Vaša pomoć je potrebna i znači tako mnogo!

Ovo je priča Aleksandre, mlade djevojke od samo 25 godina iz Bijeljine, Bosne i Herzegovine, koja je u roku od dva mjeseca naglo i teško oboljela. U julu mjesecu ove godine su joj prepisane pogrešne tablete, koje su imale previše estrogena u sebi. To je izazvalo u njenom tijelu policitemiju rubra vera t.j. JAK2 gen je mutirao i koštana srž je počela da proizvodi mnogo više krvi (tačnije crvenih krvnih zrnaca) nego što je organizmu potrebno, krv je krenula da postaje sve gušća što je izazvalo trombozu, pojava ugrušaka koji su začepili jetrene vene i izazvali cirozu jetre. Doktori su ustanovili vrlo rijedak takozvani Budd-Chiarijev sindrom
Pre oboljenja, Aleksandra je bila vrijedni student biologije, sa nadom i planovima za budućnost. Oduvijek je bila zdrava, jaka i inspiracija za svakoga ko je poznaje. Teška bolest i komplikacije pogodile su je niotkuda. U Bosni nema adekvatne klinike koja bi joj mogla pomoći, doktori su bespomoćni. Šalju je na dalje liječenje van države, za Zagreb, u specijalnu kliniku za transplantacije. Zdravstveno osiguranje ne snosi troškove - ni za trenutne lijekove koji su joj neophodni za život, niti za preglede u Zagrebu, a o budućem liječenju i da ne govorim. Roditelji su joj zlom sudbinom oboje ostali bez radnoga mjesta, a ona je, kao što je pomenuto, student biologije bez ikakvog primanja. Od jula ove godine do sada su potrošili preko 7700€ za njeno liječenje, u državi gdje je prosječna plata 350€. Dali su sve od sebe i više od toga da bi spasili život svoga djeteta, ali su sada ostali bez ičega. A borba za Aleksandrin život tek je počela.
Dajemo sada sve od sebe da prikupimo potreban novac, koji će omogućiti da ova djevojka živi i preživi. Sada želim da zamolim svaku dobru dušu, svako ko može i želi da pomogne i da učini dobro, da donira onoliko koliko može i da Aleksandri s tim pruži novu šansu, Vaše malo može značiti tako puno!
Sada joj prvenstveno treba pomoć da može otići za Zagreb na liječenje i da može da priušti njoj tako bitne i neophodne lijekove. Redovno joj je potrebna punkcija viška tečnosti iz abdomena, od jula do sada su joj punktirali oko 54 litara tečnosti. Sledeće sedmice će se tačnije znati šta je sve čeka i koliko će novca trebati za sve zahvate koji će da slijede.

In Bosnien und Herzegowina leidet Aleksandra an einer plötzlich aufgetretenen seltenen Krankheit, die fatal enden könnte, sollte sie nicht so schnell wie möglich behandelt werden. Ihre Familie hat alle gehabten Ersparnisse für die bisherigen Behandlungen aufgebraucht und die Krankenversicherung in diesem Land trägt die Kosten nicht. Jede kleine Spende Ihrerseits ann Leben retten.
Diese Geschichte und dieses traurige Schicksal handelt von Aleksandra, einer jungen Frau, gerade einmal 25 Jahre alt geworden, aus Bijeljina, Bosnien und Herzegowina, die innerhalb der letzten zwei Monate schwer erkrankt ist. Im Juli verschrieben ihr Ärzte die falschen Medikamente. Wegen des hohen Anteils dieser Tabletten an Östrogen kam es zur Polycythemia rubra vera, diese führte zur Mutation des JAK2-Gens in ihrem Körper. Wegen dieser Mutation begann das Knochenmark zu viele rote Blutkörperchen herzustellen, ihr Blut wurde dicker und es entwickelte sich eine Thrombose. Blutgerinnsel verstopften die Vene zur Leber und es kam zu einer Leberzirrhose. Die Ärzte diagnostizierten zudem das äußerst seltene Budd-Chiari-Syndrom.
Vor ihrer Erkrankung war Aleksandra eine fleißige Studentin der Biologie, mit Hoffnungen und Plänen für ihre Zukunft und Karriere. Sie war immer gesund, immer starken Charakters und eine Inspiration für alle um sich herum. Die Erkrankung und die darauffolgenden Komplikationen trafen sie völlig unerwartet.
In Bosnien findet sich keine adäquate Klinik, die ihren Fall behandeln kann, die Ärzte sind hilflos. Nun schickt man sie in eine Spezialklinik für Transplantationen außerhalb des Landes nach Zagreb, Kroatien. Die Krankenversicherung übernimmt die Kosten nicht - weder für die momentanen Medikamente die sie zum Überleben braucht, noch die bevorstehenden Untersuchungen in Zagreb. Und geschweige denn für die zukünftigen unumgänglichen Behandlungen. Ihre Eltern verloren beide schicksalhaft ihren Arbeitsplatz dieses Jahr und sie als Studentin ist ohne Einkommen. Seit Juli haben sie bereits über 7700€ für ihre Behandlungen gezahlt, in einem Land mit monatlichem Durchschnittseinkommen von etwa 350€. Sie gaben und verkauften alles was sie hatten, um das Leben ihres Kindes zu retten. Nun ist auch das Letzte aufgebraucht, aber der Kampf um das Überleben dieser jungen Frau hat erst begonnen.
Wir versuchen nun alles, um die nötigen Mittel zu sammeln, um ihr ein Leben und ein Überleben zu ermöglichen. Nun bitte ich jeden, der etwas Gutes tun und etwas ändern möchte, zu spenden um ihr eine zweite Chance in ihrem Leben zu schenken. Sie braucht lebenserhaltende Medikamente täglich, in regelmäßigen Abständen muss ihr überschüssige Flüssigkeit aus dem Bauch punktiert werden, seit Juli mittlerweile über 54 Liter. Nach der nächsten Woche wissen sie Näheres, was alles konkret auf sie zukommt und wie viel sie die Operationen und eine mögliche Lebertransplantation kosten wird.
Ohne unsere Hilfe wird sie alleine den härtesten Kampf ihres Lebens nicht gewinnen. Es liegt an uns, es liegt an Ihnen – unsere Unterstützung kann und wird ihr gesamtes Leben und ihre Zukunft bestimmen. Wir werden Ihnen ewig dankbar sein!
