I'm writing this on behalf of my good friend Marzena and her family, who are close friends of mine from back home in Poland, and are in a horrible situation since Marzena developed cancer.

The fight for Marzena's life started in 2010, when she was diagnosed with the brain tumor Glioblastoma (the most aggressive tumor in humans). Because of the size of the tumor none of the clinics in Poland wanted to take the risk and operate, but luckily, her family found a doctor in Bydgoszcz who was prepared to take that risk, and operated on her. After the operation chemotherapy and radiotherapy were both necessary but unfortunately, and even with all of this treatment, the doctors were only successful in making her feel better for a short time, while the tumor still increased in size. At this very moment the tumor's size is so big that none of the doctors in Poland will operate on Marzena, therefore they are not giving her any chance of surviving.

In December 2012 her family got in contact with a clinic in Berlin and they are willing to perform the operation she needs and give her the chance to live  - this operation is set for the 27^th of January 2013. However, the full cost of this operation and follow-up treatment will cost 30,000 Euros. There is not enough time for her family to raise this amount of money on their own in such a short period of time so I'm doing what I can to help raise some funds "“ at this time any donation, however small, really will help.

I've know Marzena all my life and she is a great friend to me. She is such a positive and happy women and even now, when she is so terminally ill, she still keeps smiling and doesn't lose hope. Marzena is 34 years old and a fantastic mum to two boys, 16 and 10.

We need some help to raise the 30,000 Euros to get Marzena to Berlin and pay for her operation and treatment. Please help us to achieve this and help her win this fight with cancer!
