Hammer's vet bill

I never let Hammer chew on rawhides because he has this habit if inhaling and not using it as a chew toy.

I took tons of them away from him. My sister is very lucky to have a dog that would rather carry them around than eat them.

Anyways, Hammer managed to find and eat one behind my back.

we came home that eve. and went to bed. When we woke he was puking. Poor thing I couldn't get mad at him I could tell he wasn't feeling well. I found large chunks of rawhide and bile. I had to go to work so I brought him over to my neighbors. Hammers breeder and very dear friends. I would be lost without them!!!!

I knew he would be well taken care of.

After some time he got worse and Donna made the decision to take him to the emergency room. It is a good thing because he would have died in a few hours.

They took an x-ray and found he had an obstruction.

His electrolytes were way low so he was put on an IV till they were up so they could operate.

They didn't find the obstruction. It probably was a muscle contraction and it loosened up when they opened him up. All that was found was bile little black spots on his stomach wall. They took a biopsy and said it didn't look cancerous but looked more like hemorrhaging. He had to stay 2 nights at vet till he was stable and eating and drinking.
