Prayers For Jacqueline

I’m not really sure how to begin this story. I’ll start off by telling you who this is all about. My sister Jacqueline Rodriguez, 19 years old, graduated from Red Hook High school in 2018 and has been continuing her education as a college student. Everyone who knows her or has known her can understand the big, vibrant, confident, funny and loyal personality that continues to grow as she steps into the real world. Our family wouldn’t be what it is without her in it.

On September 14th my sister got into a car accident that would send our family down a spiral of worry, sadness, anxiety, anger, frustration, sleeplessness, delusion; the list goes on. The evening of the accident went by so fast yet so slow as she was rushed to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for immediate CT scans of her brain, but that process seemed to take forever as we waited to hear what kind of damage this accident had on her. Finally, one of the medical staff members came out to inform us that she was hemorrhaging (bleeding) mainly on the right side of her brain with multiple skull fractures. They would continue to do more scans to see whether or not she needed to be transferred to a more advanced trauma facility. Eventually they came back and concluded that she needed to be brought to Vallhalla Medical Center in Westchester to continue the damage investigation/recovery process. We all met back up at Vallhalla where they then started more advanced CT scans of her brain. After about an hour and a half of waiting for the results, the neurologist looking at the scans told us that the hemorrhage had grown larger in just that one-hour long trip to Vallhalla from Mid-Hudson Regional. They made the decision to operate that morning (it was now 2:30am). Since the first brain surgery, she’s been in the ICU being monitored for all progress and/or regressions.

With all of that being said, this is understandably an extremely financially taxing obstacle which is why I wanted to start this campaign as well. A little financial help goes such a long way and my family would appreciate anything you would have to offer even if it’s just a thoughtful message of hope. I want my sister to know how much this community is rooting for her.

This road to recovery is going to be extremely difficult and I ask for any and every prayer, positive vibe and hopeful wish that can help us continue this journey with the sole purpose of my sister getting her life back. We need her back.

Updates of her progress will be posted as best as possible amongst making sure Jacqueline is top priority at all times.

Thank you in advance for everything, we appreciate you.
