Volunteer for Education in Sri Lanka

GoEco is a volunteer organization that has been specializing in Ecological & Humanitarian projects since 2005. I would like to join their Education in Sri Lanka project because I have spent 7 years in the United States teaching English, and now, I would like to combine my love of travel with my love of teaching. I recently traveled to SE Asia this past summer and I fell in love with life and travel. I believe in giving back all the blessings that I have been afforded in my life and sharing my knowledge, my skills, and my enthusiasm for living life with not only a passion but with reason. I felt what experiencing a drastically different culture did for me and it changed me for the better, forever. I believe everyone, especially children deserve to experience the world, if only through the eyes and hearts of travelers coming to them; teaching them and sharing with them a life outside of where they live, opening them up to dream. 

I have never volunteered overseas, but my trip to SE Asia this past summer has made it very clear to me that is there is big world out there that needs our help, and I want to actively immerse myself in helping communities around the world. But overseas volunteering can get expensive which is why I am asking for some funding help for my first venture. I will be spending 2 months (Mid-June - Mid-August) teaching English in local schools, temples and orphanages to children who might not otherwise have access to English classes. Your donations will cover the cost of my volunteer time, my flight to and from Sri Lanka, and some personal donations I intend to make to the schools/temples for school supplies. I plan to make this 1 of many volunteer missions in Asia & beyond, over the next few years, so I will be creating a travel/volunteer blog on this trip to share with you.
