NYS Trooper Joe Gallagher Family Fund

Donation protected
“Hockey for heroes” is annual charity hockey tournament that takes place every fall in Lake Placid, NY. Each year the family of a fallen officer is selected, and brought to Lake Placid to enjoy a special weekend in their honor. Unlike most events similar in nature, the objective is to recognize the family that has been left behind, and more then anything, show them that even though they have lost a member of their family, they are still very much a part of the Law Enforcement family. This year, for the first time ever, we are honoring the family of an officer that is still alive. Trooper Joe Gallagher was struck by a distracted driver on December 18, 2017 while assisting a stranded motorist near the interchange between the Sagtikos Parkway and Long Island Expressway in Brentwood, NY. Joe has suffered traumatic brain injuries requiring multiple surgeries, and has left him severely disabled in a full time rehabilitation center since the accident occurred, over a year and a half ago. Joe and his wife Laura, have two young children who visit Joe as frequently as they can. All funds raised will be presented to Laura directly, to assist the Gallagher family with expenses they have incurred as a result of this tragedy, and will continue to endure throughout Joe’s hopeful recovery. Any amount is much appreciated, and will all add up!! Thank you for your support for the Gallagher family, and your help in reminding them, that they have not been forgotten!
