My wife Yasmin was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer October 2017 and she passed away at home on December 23, 2020.  Since that time we have been through the typical treatments. External radiation, two rounds of Chemo, Brachy Therapy, Lymph node extraction / biopsy, and Avastin targeted immunotherapy. On June 27th, 2019 we discovered her cancer progressed to stage 4 and on March 10th 2020 her cancer progressed even further stopping her Avastin treatments. She underwent advanced immune treatment in a clinical trial at Orlando Cancer Center UF health sponsored by Iovance that uses her own TILs (TCell Infiltrating Lymphocytes) extracted from her cancer tumors. This TIL therapy offered great hope, her last chance,  but failed to overcome her cancer's progression.  It has been an extremely rough journey my wife and our family has endured since October 2017, and those she left behind will need the prayers and support of our loved ones, our Church, our loving community and most of all our faith in Jesus Christ. We thought it was tough before, but nothing could prepare anyone for what cancer really does to the patient, their family and those that care for them in the late stages. My wife's condition, since April 2020, had slowly worsened due to her constant and sever pain caused by the continued growth of the cancer tumors affecting her lower back and abdominal regions. This had required her to undergo two weeks of targeted radiation therapy, continued use of pain medications and patches to temper her pain, and on me to assist her with even routing tasks. As a care giver this is a daunting and exhausting responsibility that requires the most patience.   You hear other's having this story and you never think it would happen to you or your family..., until it does and nothing can prepare you for it. Being her husband, the father of our four children, and her caregiver I asked for the guidance of our Father and his son Jesus Christ to ensure my wife is finally at peace. We won't grow old together to share in the memories of our children growing up and having families of their own. Yasmin was strong in fighting the cancer. Towards the last few months the pain and suffering she experienced was so bad she yells out that she cannot take it anymore. That is where we, her family came together to give her to strength and encouragement to fight on! I will never give up on my wife, I will continue to ask for God's grace to bring me back into her embrace as her husband when I am called into God's Eternal Heavenly Kingdom. Life in the flesh is only as a mist in the wind. It will only be a matter of time that I am reunited with my true love, Yasmin Amor Brice. We sincerely thank those for their prayers and support. God Bless!
