Help Jay Smith's Survival
Five months ago we held a fundraiser for Jay Smith, in order for him to deal with his mother's death, and the various financial issues that had shown up because of it. The outpouring of love helped Jay as much as the money helped deal with the bills. In the intervening months since then, things have gotten much, much worse. Without help, Jay's future goes from hard, to nearly impossible, so we turn to the community that became his chosen family for help. If you're reading this, you're part of that community, for Jay loves everyone, as his closest friends can attest. Jay is currently in a long-term, post-surgery, facility. Complications from his diabetes has led to the amputation of his right leg below the knee, as well as a toe on his left foot. He needs help with modifying his home, which includes structural changes throughout his place. Doors have to be widened, the bathroom has to be set up for disabled access, his kitchen needs similar changes, and ramps need installation. He also will need help covering bills, medications, and food while waiting for the government to catch up to his current situation. Literally, we are raising funds to help keep him alive. We've put up a large number, but the truth is that it's probably a bit less than his complete needs. Please help if you can, all funds, minus the fees from GoFundMe, go to him. Thank you.
