21st Century Fairy Tale

Greetings. So, as many of you are already aware, I've accidentally fallen in love with a man from across the pond. We've been communicating daily via peer to peer programs for about four years now, which makes for a phenomenal amount of hours spent staring longingly through virtual plexiglass. We've tried to get me over to his side of the ocean, but to no avail. Now we're trying to get him over to mine. I'm a waitress in a small town. Big heart, big dreams, big will power... little cash. The visa applications and steps we have to take to make this happen are both time consuming (which we have loads of) and expensive. The fees just keep coming. I really need help. I really, really need to have my mate with me. Living with half your heart just under 5,000 miles away is both a learning experience and a whole new kind of torture. Meanwhile, it is winter in my small tourist town and my earning potential is painfully reduced. I'd sell kidneys, but I need them. I'd sell property, but I have none. I'd borrow from somewhere, but there is no one to borrow from. It's just me, my kid, and the man I love waaaayyyyy over there. I'm begging. Love makes you humble, resourceful, and determined. Mostly humble. But it lights up the whole world.
