BLACK FARMS MATTER

Donation protected
Good day. I'm Chef Calvin Wright owner and creator of the BLACK FARMS MATTER movement. I am reaching out to you all, because we have a great jump on this project, but we need funding. To go legit and really make this work, I need to be able to provide this business a license, trademark, and insurance. Also, with the funds that are raised, I will be donating to a local community farm, and providing whatever is needed for that local community farm to be successful. What the funds are in for in detail: 1. Getting shirts to provide to the youth of the West Boulevard Neighborhood Coalition. We have a great group of young individuals who would love to have BLACK FARMS MATTER shirts, and we need the funds to provide those shirts for them. They work very hard at growing a local farm for their community, and we would like to reward them with BLACK FARMS MATTER shirts. They deserve it! 2. Provide a small pickup truck that's in running condition to help bring produce to families that don't have the transportation to make it to their local farm. This will help understand the dedication and help them feel hope and knowing that someone cares for them. We need to show we care, that way we can gain confidence in what we are doing for our communities. 3. These funds would go into making this business legit. That way we can attain the proper tax forms, so we can provide those who donate, tax write offs. We need to legitimize this business with the proper licensing, insurance, and trademarking. 4. A certain amount of the donations will go to providing the BLACK FARMS MATTER team to travel to different farms around the country to do research and development. We need to be able to go personally to each of these farms and see how we can help them get their produce into local commercial markets and farmers markets. Plus, we can work with them on how they can help with how they can provide for the local communities, and how they can gain from providing for their local communities. 5. These funds will help with creating ticketed events on the farms for us to cook that local produce and throw "farm to table" events. That way we can assist with a way to promote that farm to the local community. These events will also help alleviate some of the pressure and costs these farmers are going through. 6. Rental of kitchens and equipment. Kitchens and equipment will be needed to help instruct those who receive the produce, on how to prepare them. We will be a zero waste program. We will use the produce and the facilities provided to make sure we can approach this situation with 100% effectiveness. This portion of the donations is one of the most important points of all. If we can provide these meals and teach the local communities on how to prepare and portion of the produce provided, then we can create change in the community. We can assist with crime rates (most people of a lower income community commit crime, because they're hungry), create the mind and body to respond differently (we haven't had the proper food discipline in our communities to make change. What we put in our bodies will make a difference), change our perception and perspective on certain issues, and teach us how to approach situations on a different level. 7. Therapy. We will hire therapists who are familiar with how the community works. Therapists that come from similar situations. Our communities have experienced a lot of trauma, which has led us to have P.T.S.D. If we can recognize these traumas, then we can make change. GOAL: To provide all that is needed to make this situation really work for all who are in need. This is a movement for the people. We are trying to assist with better ways for local communities to make a better living for themselves, and thrive in our present day society. Statement from Chef Calvin Wright: I want to thank everyone who has already supported the BLACK FARMS MATTER movement. My mission is far beyond me, and it is my duty as a product from a lower income community to help those who need. I've been fortunate to make a career for myself, but it took a lot for me to be where I am. If I had all of the resources I'm asking for, to help our communities, who knows where I could be. It starts with our local communities and then we work our way up. I truly appreciate everyone who has already supported, and those who will support in the future. Let's make a difference. Cheers! *Gifts for donations* Anyone who invests $50 or more will receive a BLACK FARMS MATTER shirt. $200 or more will receive a canvas grocery bag and a tshirt with the BLACK FARMS MATTER print on it. *Delivery for gifts will be sent out once goal is met*
