Help for Barbara’s Brain Tumor Op

To friends, family, colleagues, neighbors and prospective supporters of my cousin Barbara Paulin Lucas and her 19 yr old son Harry Lucas:

Barbara is currently in a rehab center relearning how to speak, walk, and use the right side of her body again. Three weeks ago, she had an allergic reaction to a medication that sent a blood clot to her lung.  She was put in a medically induced coma, on a ventilator, for 10 days, during which time, some bleeding occurred in her brain. Within a week after waking from the coma, the cause of the bleeding was determined to be a brain tumor.

After rehab she hopefully will be strong enough to go back into the hospital so that she can start treatment for the brain tumor which could be a mixture of surgery, radiation and possibly chemotherapy.

Her job was unjustly terminated because she was unable to call in sick.  With the loss of her job, her insurance has been terminated as well.

We, the family, are asking you to please give what you can to help with medical expenses, make mortgage payments so that she and Harry do not lose their home, also provide Harry with living expenses so that he can continue to attend college.  This is a very hard time for Harry, as his grandmother, Barbara’s mother, who lived with them, passed away only 10 months ago.
