Helping Los Adoptables Vet Bills

This past weekend I brought the dog of the family we built a house for with Greatness Foundation to Los Adoptables A.C. so he could go to the vet. The dog’s name is Pancho and he was very skinny and weak. After a few PB&J sandwich scraps I had a loyal friend following me around. His family agreed right away for me to take him to the vet. He is SUCH a sweet boy ❤️
Turns out Pancho has Ehrlichia (tick disease) and an upper respiratory infection. Not to mention malnourished. All treatable with meds and TLC. These type’s of illnesses are VERY common in Baja because of overpopulation, no veterinary care or medicines and dogs living outdoors 100% of their lives. The vet said if Pancho went another week longer without treatment he would have been dead. Pancho has a chance to survive now and potentially be returned to the family neutered w/ resources to take care of him. His owner cared very much about him, but the migrant workers of Maneadero simply don’t have the ability to properly take care of their dogs. That’s where Los Adoptables steps in with community education and resources such as help with food, vet bills and spay/neuter. If Pancho goes back to his original family Los Adoptables can help with food and vet care in the future and if they don’t have money they can volunteer at the shelter in exchange for help to care for their dogs.
Alternatively, if the family does not come back for Pancho he will be adopted to a new home.
In the meantime we need some donations to cover his vet bill so he can get better. Just the first bill for diagnostic tests and meds was $125 USD. Los Adoptables constantly rescues dogs with similar stories like Pancho. Their vet bill total is currently around 10,000 Mexican pesos (approx $550 USD).
