Parvovirus Pound Puppies
Lola, her siblings & her mum were saved from a Country NSW Pound by Pound Rescue Inc.
They came into care riddled with parasites & worms only to be then struck down by the deadly Parvovirus. There were 8 beautiful puppies, however despite our best efforts 2 puppies lost their fight for life. Lola is still fighting that fight & what an amazing little fighter she is. Let’s all help her in her fight to give her the best possible chance to live & go on to have a happy healthy life.
Lola, is a 12 week old gorgeous, affectionate and tiny puppy. She is a very smart Kelpie X who desperately needs your help, Pleeeease . Due to her unfortunate circumstances, and being exposed to the ever rampant viruses found in pounds at a very young age, she contracted parvovirus (essentially the deadliest thing a puppy can get prior to its vaccinations being fully completed). She was riddled with worms and parasites and is now deathly ill. Lola has not been able to keep any food or water down and has been non-stop vomiting with excessive diarrhoea, her little body simply cannot absorb the nutrients it needs to keep her going without much needed help. The costs are adding up (costing $1,000 plus per day) plus any of the extras along the way to give the best chance. A bag of plasma along costs $870!
Lola and her siblings are in need of your generous assistance to keep their fight going. Several of the puppies have had to have intensive care and IV fluids, antibiotics, you name it! Lola has required 24 hour care including a feeding tube, a plasma transfusion, multiple blood tests, antibiotics, and is separated from all the other animals in an isolation room. She is strong and there are promising signs of improvement however this extensive care is slowly but surely adding up to something unmanageable by Pound Rescue. Lola has been in Intensive Care for more than 1 week now. This is a non-profit organisation that literally goes above & beyond to save lives of animals in need and without your help it simply wouldn’t be possible; and when the cost of care becomes unmanageable the only option becomes euthanasia which is something we want to avoid at all costs!!!
Lola’s mum was found at the pound on death row, And she was saved by Debra Moodie who operates Pound Rescue Inc voluntarily.
If you can find it in your heart to make any sort of contribution towards her cause and that of her siblings, we will be forever indebted to your generosity. Once the bills become too great, it becomes a choice of whether or not Lola gets to keep fighting her fight or if we have to make the call to stop treatment. Lola is not a pedigree dog by today’s standards but she certainly deserves the best chance at life! You might even get to meet her one day at the dog park, she certainly will give you a lick and a cuddle but only if she gets the opportunity to live this life. Thank you for reading this and giving it your due consideration.
