Help Karina get an insulin pump!

Hello, everyone!
     As many of you know, our family has been going through several trying experiences this year. The hardest of them all has been Karina's illness. Karina is 10 years old and got sick with a very strong viral infection in May, an infection that triggered a strong response from her immune system. In the process of fighting and destroing the virus, her immune system destroyed her Beta cells from her pancreas, responsible of producing the insulin. In July she ended up in the Children's Hospital with a blood sugar of almost 500 and was diagnosed as an insulin dependent diabetic- Type 1 Diabetes.
     At this moment, Karina pricks her fingers and toes 4-6 times a day and sometimes I have to do it during the night if her blood sugar is out of control. She gets insulin shots 5-6 times a day. Because she is only 10 years old, growing and her hormones are fluctuating so much, her blood sugar can run during the day from 42 to 400. When her blood sugar gets below 80 she has to act rapidlly to bring it up before she passes out. That happens a lot when she plays, does sports and during the night time . She is scarred that one night she will become unconscious and die before we will be able to get to her. At school she spends a lot of time away from her friends and classes because she has to be in the nurse's office either checking blood sugar, counting carbs for her meals or getting insulin shots.
     Karina's life has been turned upside down and at her 10 years she has to deal with a lot. We found that an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor sensor would bring her life almost back to normal. The sensor checks her blood sugar every 3 minutes and transmits it to the pump, which calculates how much insulin she needs and dispenses it in her body as needed. Also has an alarm that signals blood sugar levels dropping and able to wake her up before it gets too low. This will reduce her shots from 6 a day to 1 every 3 days.  When she found out about the pump, she said that she will never ask for anythingelse if we can get her the pump. It is heartbreaking when a 10  year old asks for needles and medicine and feeling secure while she sleeps, instead of toys and gadgets. Believe it or not, in the USA the diabetes treatment is not free, not even for children, and our medical insurance is a high deductible, which means that we have to pay $6,000 out of pocket before the insurance will cover. And after that, it will be monthly insulin and supplies.The total price for the pump, the continual glucose monitor, my SENTRA and the infussion supplies is $12,048.20.  
     At this time, we can not afford the cost for it, and I can not see that we will be able to afford it in any near future, so I ask and I plead : please , if you can spear, help us give Karina the only thing she wishes for and help give her life back so she can be a 10 years old child. May God bless you all and your families!
