"La Caroline" Goes to New York

Donation protected

Your favorite local playwrights have been given a rare opportunity (we are your favorites, right?), but we need your help to bring it to fruition. Jennifer Chase (her) and John Citrone (him) have been selected for a week-long residency at the performing arts collective CAP21, in New York's Chelsea district, to complete the next phase of Jenn's musical "La Caroline." The musical is nearly complete, and many of you may have seen excerpts at the recent Wilson Center performance. Portions were also performed in Nantes, France earlier this year.

Further development is needed to complete what we're calling Phase Three, in preparation for a full performance in Nantes in August of 2013. Jacksonville performances are also in the works (whoo hoo!). This residency will give us not only the time to complete this current phase, but will also put us in touch with theater professionals who can help guide us through the process.

The residency is paid for by CAP21, but all other expenses need to be covered. Which is why we are asking (begging?) for your help. To ease the financial strain of the trip, we are hoping to garner enough in donations to pay travel and meal expenses, as well as minor production costs during the residency. Your help is greatly appreciated and will help the lovable two-headed beast complete the penultimate phase of "La Caroline," a musical about the conquering of Northeast Florida. Thank you so much for your assistance. Seriously, thank you.
