Help Sarah Attend Midwifery School

WHY I WANT TO BECOME A MIDWIFE
I want to help bring compassion and education to all individuals during the full spectrum of pregnancy experiences. I am looking forward to learning how to bring my feminist ideology into the larger conversation on midwifery.
Among the issues I would like to work towards after attending midwifery school includes accessibility, specifically for the socioeconomically underprivileged and persons of color in the homebirth world. I would also like to create programs for imprisoned women who would like to have midwifery and doula care while incarcerated. Finally, I would like to explore options to build the conversation around homebirth and natural care for women in the St. Louis metro area.
WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE TO HELP FUND ME
You should help fund me because I have proven in my accountability to political and social organizations (the Industrial Workers of the World, Workers Solidarity Alliance, Autonomy Alliance, Radical Birthworkers of St. Louis, Confluence Doula Project, etc) that I am committed to building a better community in the St. Louis area. I want to become a midwife to continue my goals of building safer spaces. I still need about 10,000 more to attend midwifery school which begins March 1, 2013, so anything you can contribute is a huge help.
