Marta's Cancer & other expenses

Money raised will enable Marta Toal to have transportation, some new clothes that fit as she must go to chemotherapy regularly & has lost over 40#, and to meet other needs of daily living. This will make her process of coping with advanced cancer (considered terminal) and dying more comfortable.
I am her former employer, but cannot afford to give her enough money to adequately help with her expenses. Marta lives in Georgia and I live in Washington state (where I am a nurse practitioner) so I cannot be present with her to give tangible help.
Finding this site is a way I can help her in a very meaningful way.
Marta Toal was my mother's wonderful caregiver who lived with my mother 24/7 for 9 years. Marta became part of our family - and my mother part of hers. (Her sisters would provide Marta's time off coverage - a truly family affair.)
Now Marta has advanced (stage 4) lung cancer and is considered in a terminal situation by her physicians. She has lost her car & truck (which she pawned, but could not pay to retrieve, to try to raise money for her medical and basic living expenses). She cannot afford to cover all the expenses she is having. She does get food stamps & disability now, but that does not cover the expenses that would make her life more comfortable.
She made my mother's end of life (dementia which progressed slowly over 9 years) gentle and loving with the help of Hospice. Now it is my turn to help her as much as I can.
