Help Cage with medical equipment.
One of our ultimate goals was to get a Wheelchair accessible van for our son Cage. With having a big family like ours it is next to impossible for all of us to go anywhere together with Cages power chair. This why we need your help. By donating you will be helping Cage in being able to take his power chair wherever we go and giving him the freedom to roam. If we do not reach our goal we will use the funds to purchase wheel chair accessible items that we still need like: Ramps for the van and house, additional medical equipment that insurance refuses to pay for and pay off medical equipment/bills that we still owe on.
For those that do not know Cage
he is an awesome little guy that has a form of Muscular Dystrophy know as
Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Spinal muscular atrophy
(SMA) is an incurable autosomal recessive disease caused by a genetic defect in the SMN1 gene which codes SMN, a protein necessary
for survival of motor neurons, and resulting in death of neuronal cells in the anterior horn of spinal cord and subsequent system-wide muscle wasting (atrophy).
Spinal muscular atrophy manifests in various degrees of severity, which
all have in common general muscle wasting, and mobility impairment. Other body
systems may be affected as well, particularly in early-onset forms. SMA is the
most common genetic cause of infant death.
