This campaign is to raise money for a treatment that would restore my health and allow my husband and I to start a family. Read on for more details.

My name is Lavonya Jones. My husband Fred and I have been married for 5 years. We've been best friends since middle school. For the last year and a half we have been trying to get pregnant. This summer I had an ectopic pregnancy, which is a pregnancy in my fallopian tubes. To avoid damaging my ability to get pregnant in the future, I had to receive a chemo drug, called methotrexate, to make the pregnancy pass and to save my fallopian tubes. This is the same drug that is used to treat breast cancer. Not only did my body have a horrible reaction to this treatment, but it made my existing chronic pain condition that much worse. The recovery from this treatment was only suppose to be a couple of weeks, but since July, I have still been dealing with the side effects that come from receiving a chemo level drug to a body that already wasn't in the best of health. This includes often not being able to hold down food, abdomen and joint pain, and extreme fatigue. Because my reaction to the treatment wasn't typical, my doctors had no answers for me. Recently, I switched to a different specialist to see if I could get some answers. Thank God these doctors not only found out why my body reacted the way it did to the treatment, but also why I haven't been able to get the chronic pain under control for the last six years. They determined that my nervous system is not functioning properly and is stuck at the peak of its stress level. This shuts down my body's ability to heal itself. They also determined that my adrenal glands are pretty much dead, I have a serious inflammation problem in my entire body, and I also have problems with my kidneys, bladder, and ovaries. This condition has also messed up my digestive system to the point that my body often reads nutrients from food, vitamins, and herbal supplements as toxins to my body instead of nutrients. The treatment will take three months to get me functional again and nine months to get my body back to a state of health. These doctors are the only doctors in the country that perform the non-evasive treatment that I need. This treatment will allow me to not only have a healthy pregnancy, but also be in optimal health to be a present mom for my children, and a present wife for my husband. The treatment will cost about $11,500 for all nine months. This will include weekly rechecks, toxin clearings that are stressing my immune system, and the necessary supplements to provide my body with what it needs to heal itself. Our health insurance does not cover this treatment. My husband and I are both in school full-time (we're both almost finish), and he works full time as well. Since graduating with my Master's in 2008, I have not been able to hold a full-time job because of my health. In 2009, I had to put a hold on my business. In 2011, I had to quit my part-time banking job because the work was making my health condition worse, and it wasn't paying enough to cover my medical expenses to stay on the job. My husband and I have also tried to get governmental assistance only to be denied three times. You can imagine the strain this has put on us emotionally and financially, with all the doctors and treatments I've already gone through the last six years. On top of our desire to start a family, I have a passion for coaching young entrepreneurs. However, my health condition has prevented me from doing the things I need to do for my business and prevented me from launching my youth entrepreneurship program that teaches youth to create jobs and use their business to improve their communities. If we don't raise the money we need for me to start this treatment as soon as possible, my condition will continue to get worse, and starting a family before I get healthy would not be a wise choice. Not getting this treatment would also put a strain on my ability to fulfill my dream of teaching at the university level and relaunching my business, once I graduate with my doctorate next year. We are soliciting the donations of our family and friends to help us raise the money for me to start this treatment as soon as possible. No amount is too small. Would you consider donating to our family. This has been a hard journey, but we have kept our hope and faith in the midst of the challenges, because we knew God had an answer. We're thankful to at least now have those answers. My husband and I thank you for your time and consideration, and thank you in advance for your donation.
