Diabetic Alert Dog for Jack

My 6 year old son, Jack, was just recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. His glucose levels are constantly changing and we've had some days when he hasn't had a single number fall withing his "normal" range. It's like being on a roller-coaster! I'm a single mother of 3 (with no involvement at all from their dad), so my attention is often divided. Jack doesn't always recognize when he's not feeling "quite right", or at least he doesn't always let me know, so he usually winds up feeling pretty crummy before we catch it. A Diabetic Alert Dog is specially trained to sense the changes in his glucose levels and alert us that we need to check him. I want to get a service dog for him, not only to help him to recognize his body's signals, but also to give me another set of eyes (or nose, as the case may be) that will always be watching Jack. Especially at night, which is our scariest time. Right now I'm setting the alarm for every 2 hours so that I can check him and treat him when he's low. It makes for constant exhaustion for both of us. A DAD could alleviate the need for that, as it would alert me if his levels need checked and help us to avoid unnecessary checks during the night. Any help is appreciated, as service dogs can be pretty costly. Thank you!
