Lisa's Leg Up

Hi, my name is Shauna Rae, and I'm one of Lisa McCauley's best friends. I am sending this message out on behalf of her, as well as her family, friends and colleagues. We have all come together to raise money for Lisa's battle against breast cancer.

She was diagnosed on Valentine's Day of this year, and her first surgery took place in April. Her doctor has since declared Lisa cancer-free, although she will be continuing drug therapy for five years. On November 6 she had her second surgery, with a final reconstructive surgery scheduled for the end of the year.

We decided that November "” Lisa's birthday month "” is the perfect month to get busy and try to raise the funds needed to help pay for the out of pocket expenses related to the surgery and reconstruction.  As many of you may already know, Lisa is the owner and publisher of The East Nashvillian magazine, and as a self-employed small business owner she has an extremely high insurance deductible. Although Lisa has continued to work throughout the treatment process, she hasn't been able to maintain a full-time schedule. As a result of this she has also incurred a large number of additional expenses on top of her insurance deductible.
