Help Me and My Baby stay self-sufficient

Thank you for taking the time to look at my cause.

Hello, we are Echo and Noelle. The year 2013 has brought new challenges for my 2 year old daughter and me. We began the year with restoring sight to her right eye through a surgical procedure that implanted a lens in January. She had many post-op appointments and was fitted for glasses. Due to her eye condition being rare, they discovered something growing on her implant and still do not know what it is. In April, Noelle had acquired MRSA (methicillin resistant staph aureus), a hard to treat bacterial infection, which resulted in several drains placed, 5 emergency room visits, and over 104 unpaid work hours to care for her draining wounds.

104 hours is over 2 weeks of unpaid leave intermittently taken out over the course of a few months leaving me with paychecks that do not cover the expense of child care to keep working. The impact of this bacterial infection has little to do with health care coverage and paying hospital expenses, and more to do with not being able to pay for my child care in order to keep working. The impact of this infection was also emotionally draining and exhausting to watch as my daughter seemed to not get any better. The stress has devastated me, my current friendships, and tapped out my support systems.

I am grateful I did not lose my daughter to cancer or other childhood disease. I am grateful that my job has continued to work with me, despite my hours I have been unproductive. I am grateful to those who were able to help me with what little, or how much impact to keep me afloat during these last few months. I have two months more to go before I recieve my first full paycheck for this year. I have a promotion on the horizon, and I don't want to lose it because I cannot afford child care. I don't want to lose my home because I cannot work. This is what I am faced with mid-July.

If you are not able to help out with the yard sale fundraiser put on by my co-workers, but want to contribute something, you may do so through this account.

Thank you for hearing my story and helping us
