Sandy Won't Stop the Lane Family

Donation protected

Hey everyone,

As you guys know, Staten Island was one of the worst hit areas from Hurricane Sandy.  Two weeks after the storm, folks are still trying to pick up the pieces of their lives left in its wake.

For the Lane family, that's not an easy thing to do.  During the storm, they had to be rescued from floodwaters by the National Guard.  And, well, they lost everything in the meantime - clothes, furniture, insulation, carpets, refrigerator, oven, laundry machine...not to mention the sentimental things that are even harder to live without.  All ruined by flooding.

I say we help the Lane Family get some of these things back.
Originally I planned on raising only $600 to cover a water pump and portable heaters for them, but, in truth, I think we can do better than that (and indeed the additional amount won't be in vain).

Please donate for the Lanes and hope the best for their neighborhood (Oakwood Beach).  As reported in the news, it's accounted for 4 of the casualties from the storm and has a long way to being rebuilt.

Though we may not all be there in person, we can at least stand with the Lanes now and, together, say that Sandy won't stop them.
