Staten Island Relief

Our big, small town has come together once again to console families through this crisis. Thank you to everyone who expressed a desire to help the Staten Islanders affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Sections of Staten Island are devastated. Many families on the shores lost everything. For those left with homes to salvage we have begun the arduous clean-up phase; cleaning out homes, some down to the studs and cement. For those displaced we have been getting them to shelters, getting the correct fema, national, state and city support. Thousands are left homeless at least for the past week. 

I loved the tremendous outcry I received from friends wanting to help. Rather than jump into buying goods to drop off at shelters, I have been working with the shelters, churches and organizations and now can assess where the donations can best be placed as we move into the next phases of rebuilding Staten Island.

The money raised here will go to purchase basic needs for specific families and neighborhoods. I have a list of several families left with nothing! Your money will go to sponsor these families in their most dire need. Your gift will not be tax deductible but know that every dollar through this site will be personally carried by myself to these families and spent on much needed food and supplies. 

My family was very blessed. We would like to help families right now that have lost everything. And if your company will match your donation please give to a worthy organization that can promise to get the funds directly to SI; I know the Archdiocese of NY has a SI donation site where 100% is going into the hands of families in my community.
