Emily, Anthony, Izzy and Lilly were living in Island Park, when the mandatory evacuation was announced due to Sandy's path. They packed up what they could in their vehicles and headed to Rockville Centre to wait out the storm. When they returned to their home on Wednesday afternoon, they found three feet of standing water in their house, which was raised off the ground four feet.
The Santamarina family has lost everything and now needs to start over, which includes finding a new place to live. This website has been designed to help them do just that, start over. From pictures to furniture, mementos to towels, it all needs replacing.
While we all know someone that thousands are hurting from this disaster, this is one way to help a family directly. Please take a moment to donate what you can to this wonderful family, as they will need all the help that they can getting situated.
