SAVE SPARK T. SUNSHINE! (AKA "SPARKY")
On Oct 27th I witnessed this precious animal get hit by a car. The driver did not stop. Children gathered nearby witnessed the accident also. When I offered to take the animal to an ER, they circled the dog & placed him in my car - then proceeded to hand me a hastily gathered wad of dollar bills "for the vet." Their earnest generosity & compassion still brings tears to my eyes.
Sparky is the sweetest dog. Gentle and - prior to the accident - feisty & silly. (I witnessed her frolicking in the street just prior to the accident.)
Sparky defied all odds - no broken bones, no internal bleeding. She is a superhero. She spent 28 hrs in the ER. She has a gash on her head, a very large, ugly bruise on her belly & she doesn't like to put weight on her back legs but, with each passing day she stands a little longer & walks a little further.
Her most significant injury is to her tail. It will need to be amputated soon. Sadly, over 3 inches of her tail is stripped down to the bone.
My husband & I are nursing Sparky back to health at our home. We wish we had the resources to provide all her medical care but we don't. We would be deeply grateful for even the smallest donation to help Sparky recover. She deserves the chance.
