Help My Son Through College

Hello, My name is Barbara Clarke-Reid and I am seeking assistance to help my son through college. I can sit here and tell you how great he is and all the accolades that accompany him; because all moms think the world of their children, but I chose to let him speak. These are his words:

My name is Dane Reid and I am from the island of Jamaica. I'm just a simple guy with a dream, to become a Pediatrician. As long as I can remember I've always wanted to work in the medical field. I have a great affinity for people, especially children, and helping others wherever I can. I have been taught to do whatever I can with whatever resources I have to help make life more comfortable for others.  In my opinion, a life dedicated in service to others, is a life that has reached its highest potential.

As such, I am seeking assistance in raising tuition for Fall 2016, which begins August 15th. As stated previously, it is my goal to become a physician; I am currently enrolled in a dual degree programme, Pre-med/Med. Next semester is my final semester in the Pre-medical portion of my journey; taking me one step closer to my dream.          

It is my dream to participate in programmes similar to "Doctors without Borders" to help champion the cause for adequate and proper health care in under-developed and under-served areas around the world.  It is my dream that one day everyone will be given the best care that money can buy regardless of their socioeconomic status. It is my dream that one day no one will be refused medical care because of  inadequate and insufficient resources. My hope and prayer is that I am given the chance and proper training that is necessary in order to achieve these goals as I seek to provide aid and comfort to the sick and suffering.

Yes, I have received a scholarship but it is only a partial one. I still need to raise additional funds to help offset the balance. The entire medical programme is a lot more expensive than what I am currently asking for; however, I choose to take it one semester at a time.  Any assistance that can be afforded me will be greatly appreciated.  I know my dreams are lofty but I am truly committed to giving everything I have to accomplish my dreams of service in the health field.  All I need is the best possible shot at realizing my dreams so that I can reach my highest potential.
