Studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina!
Dear family, friends, and other wonderful people I have come to know or may not know,
What a blessing! My long hoped for dream of studying abroad in Argentina is soon to be my reality! Through the study abroad program at the California State University of Sacramento, I have recently been admitted to the University of Belgrano, Argentina for the spring semester of 2013. What makes this opportunity even more wonderful and personal for me is the fact that my family is from Argentina!
As many of you probably know, I have been pursuing my dream of becoming fluent in the Spanish language for many years and have been diligently studying in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a Spanish interpreter. However, I have always known that to become truly fluent in Spanish, it is necessary that I immerse myself in the culture for a prolonged time. Unfortunately, these opportunities come at a great cost, and so I have been prayerfully considering all of my financial options.
I'm writing today to be open and honest about my need"”about how I simply don't have the money for the expenses of this trip. And I am sharing my situation in search and hope of support, knowing that times are tough for all of us, and there is often little to spare. With this in mind, please know that all donations, no matter how big or small, will be gratefully appreciated, and your generosity, humbly comforting.
