Patrick was in a car accident on Oct. 10, 2012. He suffered severe brain trauma and they have been attempting to reduce the bleeding and swelling in the brain since the accident. He is on his third ventriculostomy. Although he wasn't conscious at the accident he has been awake and alert, but this is going to be a long road for him.
Patrick graduated college a year ago and just accepted a job within his field. He got married July 7th and his wife and him were set to take a cruise for their honeymoon next week, before he began this new job. Of course now everything is on hold as we wait to see improvement.
Patrick does have medical insurance but he has a high deductible. Also with the job change he will have to start COBRA payments, which can be very expensive. We don't know what other medical expenses will occur because we don't know if there will be lasting damage. At the current moment we are just trying to get him out of ICU!
My brother has overcome tremendous obstacles to get his life where it was at just prior to his accident. His whole life is still in front of him with a new wife, job, and home. They were hoping to start a family soon. Please help him make an easy transition to getting back on his feet once he is all healed. All money donated will go to Patrick and Alison to pay medical expenses and getting their life back on track. Also prayers are always welcome!
