Winter Intensive Training Fund
This young
rider has been chosen from applicants from all over the US for our Winter
Intensive Training Program. She has been selected not only for her talent as a
Dressage rider, but for her desire to learn, determination, and citizenship.
This is a
unique program in the US. One goal is to develop international level riders; we
want to give a total program for this development in a way that is not done in
the US. The program will cover rider fitness, cross training, nutrition, sports
psychology, media training, horse care, riding theory as well as riding
instruction from top international riders.
Another goal
is to help these young people become well-respected professionals "“ in any
field. Participants will be required at all times to behave as if they were a
representative of the US - well turned out, good manners, grammar, etc. There
will be talks on ethics, building business plans, working with
clients. There will even be weekly current events discussions.
The program
is based in Wellington, FL, which is the center of the equine competition world
in the winter. This gives us a huge pool of experts that we can ask to
participate. They will interact with many role models.
The cost of
the program is $2500 a month. This does not include housing for the rider,
meals, vet and shoeing of the horse, competition fees, and transportation.
Any help for
this rider would be greatly appreciated. This may well be a major step on her
way to the Olympics -- or to becoming a successful adult in any field.
