Hospital Bed for Chloe and other crucial supports

Living with a rare type of myesthenia gravis, Chloe was
wheelchair-bound for fifteen years, paralysed. She is going in for a double
knee replacement, a surgery and post-op recovery which might again render her
paralysed. We've started this campaign to raise money to cover the cost of the
hospital bed Chloe needs to recover and continue living at home.
Chloe is an important author, researcher, thinker, and
speaker on medical ethics and issues relating to disability, diagnostic
protocols, and patient autonomy. She is a community leader, a wife and mother
and mentor, and a hilariously willful, stubborn, and bullheaded individual. And
a fabulous friend.
There are a number of other crucial projects to help Chloe stay in her home with her family. We are hoping, really, to raise $35K. We want to clear the family's immediate debts associated with health care costs, and help finish basic household modifications so that Chloe can use her wheelchair throughout their house. But let's start with the hospital bed. We need $6000.
