19km for 19 days for Marymount Hospice (during COVID-19)
We are Olan and Eoin, two friends from Cork, who like all of you during the COVID-19 crisis are staying home, social distancing and exercising within 2KM of our homes. This means we don’t get to see our families and friends, luckily for us we have all the technology we need to stay connected and see those we are close to.
Unfortunately, those who call Marymount Hospice home and those in care, in light of the vital visitor restrictions, have been cut off from friends and families. Not all have the technology they need to stay in touch with their children, grandchildren, friends and families. To answer Marymount’s call for iPad donations we aim to raise €5,000 to help the wonderful team at Marymount provide as many iPads to those they care for. Not only will this give patients a connection to their families and friends, it will also allow for families to be involved in the care their loved ones receive.
Our 380KM Dash
Our aim is to complete 380KM between us over the next 19 days, that’s 19KM a day. On the final day of our challenge both of us will complete 19km to reach our 380KM target on Monday 4 May. It is important to note, we will of course be adhering to Government guidelines during our challenge.
Our legs will certainly be weary throughout the coming days. However, it is your donations and support that will spur us on! Every extra euro is a step closer to uniting families and bringing comfort to the patients of Marymount.
