Help save my life after a catastrophic illness...

Hi, most of you who know me are aware of how I have been struggling financially and enduring one medical complication after another, since my open heart surgery in April of this year. While in the hospital, I was layed off from my job, and since June have had NO INCOME. I spent numerous hours filling out paperwork to try to qualify for every kind of welfare program and assistance there is, and nothing has worked out. I was denied unemployment because I haven't been released to work yet. I am not well enough to work, however I am still doing cardiac rehab. I applied for social security disability and was denied. I am in the process of appealing that. My kids have done what they could do for me, but in doing so they are struggling because of me. If you are a parent then you know how heartbreaking that is. I don't want to be a burden to anyone. I am a nurse and my liscense renewal is due next month. My rent is due, and so is my electricity. Organizations that can help with these things are out of funds or closed down, or I don't qualify. For example, one agency who assists wih rent can only pay $400.00 per month one time, and that's only IF the landlord agrees to pay utilities. My rent is $625.00. They couldn't put it towards my rent to help me as they said it is all or nothing. Stupid reasons like that are what I have encountered time and time again. Health and human services denied me due to my being denied from social security disability. OMG, I AM disabled, I can hardly walk without tripping, I can't go anywhere without my cane, I have shortness of breath with exertion, and I am in pain everyday. I have had never ending bleeding problems due to the mechanical aortic valve that was placed in my heart, so I have to be on a blood thinner Coumadin, the rest of my life. I am diabetic and have severe neuropathy in my lower legs which is why I trip so much, and any wounds I may get take a long time to heal. I also have chronic kidney disease stage 3 and was on dialysis while in hospital because they shut down after the cardiac surgery. At this time I don't need dialysis but the future is uncertain. I also have fibromyalgia and all the fun stuff that comes with that. And now, as if what i have been through isn't enough, I have painful lumps in my abdomen and am awaiting results from the CT scan I had done. I have no health insurance, however the hospital I worked for has agreed to cover me for a year, at no cost to me. The apartment I live in saved my life earlier this year when I moved here after a very devastating break up of a 12 year relationship. I found some healing and peace here, it's full of light, and I feel safe. To lose this will just be too much for me, I can't tell you how much I have been through. This is only a few of the barriers I have had to overcome. This is my last hope, if anyone can find it in their heart to help me, I believe God will bless you tenfold. I have no where to go if I lose my apt. Thank you for at least reading this, if you can help, I will appreciate it more than I could ever say in words. Christine
