Fundraiser for Jacob

Donation protected
Jacob Collins was an 8 year old little boy from San Diego who, like most little kids his age, liked comic books, video games and playing with his little sister Kaleigh. Jacob was diagnosed with a rare cancerous tumor in the brainstem called Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) in April of 2012. Jacob was taking radiation and chemotherapy everyday at Rady's Children's Hospital, but radiation and chemotherapy with Jacob's condition are only expected to give a child a 6% chance of survival. After a series of radiation and chemotherapy treatments the tumor was sustained, but in October 2012, only 6 months after he was diagnosed, the tumor was discovered to be larger and more aggressive than before.
Despite all of this, Jacob and his family found ways to make the most of every day. Jacob was a huge Captain America fan, had read many of the comics, loved the movie, toys and video games. Sadly, on January 17, 2013 Jacob lost his fight with cancer but even with Jacob's short-lived life he touched, and brought joy to so many people and he will continue to live through them each and everyday. His positive attitude in the face of his condition is inspiring, and will show us that a super hero will always live inside us.

This is where we need your help as friends of the family we are raising money to help with all the funeral costs.
