Help Fund my Bariatric Surgery!

Donation protected

I'm Heath Hicks (Hooligan).  I'm a local musician in South Bend, and have been involved in the scene for many years.  I've battled being overweight for the majority of my life.  In 2011, I had a bout with diverticulitis that almost killed me and opened my eyes that I really need to get motivated and get my life together.  That included loosing weight.  I enrolled in the Memorial Bariatric and Weight Loss Center's program in Sept. 2012.  The Bariatric process includes a lot of out of pocket expenses that insurance doesn't cover including $575 for a nutritional program that helps you succeed with the dietary portion of the process, and $100 for the psychological evaluation.  Also $260 for the pre-op and post op. diet and special bariatric vitamins.

My cost for surgery is $2,500, and I will be out of work for up to 6 weeks.  Unfortunately, my wife and I have endured some pretty bad financial disasters this year, that have really left our budget nonexistent.  I wouldn't normally do this and ask friends for help, but I'm in a position where I have no choice.  I'm extremely motivated to do this, and have already lost 60 pounds in two months.  I want to have a long healthy life, and this is pretty much my nuclear option to do so.  I'm tired of being in pain, and being unhealthy.  I know I've done a lot of this to myself, but I am truly motivated to fix it.

This surgery will completely change my life, for the better.
