Funeral and legal expenses for Alex Cruz

Hello my husbands name was Alex Cruz and he passed away at age 49.  Alex passed away from sudden cardiac arrest in our home.  He was a great man, always looking to help anyone in need and involved in our community and worked as a state corrections officer for 15 years. Alex leaves behind a wife and two beautiful children.  Unfortunately the state of New Jersey has denied our life insurance benefits as well as my widows pension for Alex.  We have had to hire an attorney to fight this case in court.  The attorney has required a retainer in order to proceed with the case.  Unfortunately we have no other choice but to ask for financial help.  We have asked my husbands union  pba local 105 for assistance with the retainer and they have refused.  They state that they do not pay for these type of cases regardless of the circumstance involved.  We also have a bill pending with the funeral home as well that was suppose to be paid with the life insurance that we were denied.  Please understand that there is too much at stake for us not to pursue this matter.  We will eventually lose our home if we cannot get this resolved.
