Restore Miss G's Classroom!!
At 5am on Thursday, September 13, my partner Mary-Eileen received news of a fire at Beechwood School in Menlo Park, where she had been teaching 3rd Grade throughout the summer. Now, at the start of the new fall season, she found that the fire had burned down most of the main building, including her entire classroom.
All summer, I had watched as Mary-Eileen put this classroom together, creating a truly inspiring and enriching environment for the children. I had helped her drive around the San Francisco area to buy hundreds of dollars worth of books, art supplies, and furniture that was very much needed to supplement the school's materials.
Unique teaching materials that Mary-Eileen had been collecting and saving for many years, in anticipation of her first classroom, are gone. Materials that would have provided several years of quality, tailored curriculum for children with diverse needs are gone.
I have set up this page to help collect funds so that Mary-Eileen can rebuild her classroom and teaching supplies. Putting in the effort to find these materials again is just a matter of time and determination. But finding the money to do so is something she needs help with.
I hope you will consider donating, even if just a little. Thank you so much for your help.
Sincerely,
