Rebecca's African Conservation Trip

My name is Rebecca Dawson. In May of next year I will volunteer through African Conservation Experience(ACE) for one month in the Phola Veterinary Experience in South Africa.
The Phola Veterinary Experience provides Veterinary services on a large game predator reserve in South Africa. This includes relocation, tracking, tagging, taking blood, hair and other samples to document the animals health and well-being. As well as being part of a succesful breeding program, it also provides free mobile veterinary care for the local community dogs, cats and other animals for those who would not otherwise be able to provide care for their animals.
Apart from supporting the centre financially, I will also lend much needed hands on support. As a volunteer I will be responsible for the care of animals, the safe relocation and transport and assisting the vets with anything they may need.
