16 & Chasing A Dream

My name is Indigo and I am a 15 year-old singer songwriter. For this project, I am raising money for my sister and me to travel to some of the major music cities in the USA. The trip will be for the month of July. My big sister, Logan, promised me that we would go on this trip when I turned 16. My dream is to be heard and to make a difference in the world through my music. I live in a very small town in North Carolina. In such a small town, the chances of being discovered as an artist are slim.
On the trip, I will seek out musicians to play with, listen to and learn from. In each city I will spend time singing and playing on the streets every day we are there. The main cities we are hoping to visit are Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans and Austin. Each city offers different kinds of music, people and lifestyles.
Money raised on this site will go towards food, gas and stay. For housing, we are going to try "Couchsurfing". Couchsurfing is a website which allows you to connect with people along your travel route who are willing to let you "crash on their couch" for the night. Though even with this tactic, we will more than likely need to stay in a hotel for a handful of nights.
This trip means the world to me. The chance to actively be involved in a community of music is more than I could ask for. I dream of making a positive impact on the world through music. With your help, this is one more step towards that dream.
