Josh Miles is 9 years old, and was diagnosed with AML Leukemia (M7) on November 16, 2009. After receiving 5 rounds of chemotheraphy, Josh went into remission. After almost exactly a year, Josh relapsed, and he and his family left their home and jobs in SC to make the move to Durham, NC for Josh to receive a bone marrow transplant at Duke Medical Center. Josh, and his family returned to their home in December 2011, and lived under very strict restrictions, one of the many being that Josh was unable to leave the house for most of the year. Just as Josh and his family's life was beginning to return to a sense of normalcy, with Josh returning to school, and his 4 yr. old brother Jake just starting school for the first time, and his parents returning to the workforce, Josh relapsed for a second time on August 31, 2012. This relapse was discovered during a general port flush that Josh needed before removing the port. We are very grateful for this early detection. Sadly, Duke Medical Center has run out of treatment options for Josh, and the search for a clinical study that accepts Josh into the study is his only current hope. At the moment Kelly, Joshs' Mother, has had to leave her job, and home in search for a cure for Josh, while Jeff, Joshs' Dad continues to work and care for Joshs' younger brother Jake. Today, September 10, 2012, they are flying to St. Jude's for Josh to be evaluated for clinical studies that may accept him. We are praying for a miracle for Josh, and we know that God is taking care of him perfectly. As we are grateful to God for Josh's treatments, and for the many prayers, love and support of our friends, these times are financially devastating to the Miles Family, and they still have not recovered from the previous two times that Josh has undergone treatments. The financial responsibilities of their home mortgage, car payments, other household bills, insurance, food for a family of four, travel, gas, and other medical expenses continue, even though they are unable to work as they care for Josh. The money that you donate to this family through this gofundme.com site will go DIRECTLY to the family to pay for their expenses listed above; you are not only helping to pay their bills, while they cannot, but this money will ensure that they have meals to eat and a home to return to, and most importantly ease their minds of financial worry while Josh fights his battle against Leukemia for the third time. God bless you for your generosity and kindness, and please keep in mind that no amount is too small, we are grateful for each and every donation, and feel so blessed to be receiving any financial help during this most difficult time.
THANK YOU DOESN'T EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL WE ARE FOR YOUR DONATION!
