Ron and Sherry's 50th Anniversary Trip

This March our parents will be celebrating a milestone that is rarely reached in this day and age- their 50th wedding anniversary!!! Not only will they have been married for 50 years, but they are still in love and are best friends- something that many people can't say after 5 years of marriage. They have been terrific parents and have sacrificed more, I'm sure, than we, their children, will ever know. It can be tough to get by with no children, let alone seven. Our Dad worked very hard for decades at a job that I am sure was often drudgery, and our Mom worked tirelessly to care for our home, manage the money, and work some jobs on the side. Now after 49+ years of marriage they still work part-time for supplementary income, but volunteer much of their time to help others- very giving people! If you'd ask them what is one thing they dream of doing, it would not be to travel the world, or buy a mansion, or yacht. They, especially my mother, would say it is to go on an Alaskan cruise. We would love to make that happen for them. The problem is that times are tough for everyone. All of us children have obligations, including for some, children of their own, so that we need additional help from the many people who love them and who have been touched by their love and kindness through the years, and maybe even strangers who appreciate their story and admire them for reaching this milestone. If you can help, let me thank you in advance. We would love to give my parents an opportunity where THEY are the ones being taken care of, where people are cooking for, cleaning for, taking care of THEM all the while fulfilling their dream and experiencing the beauty of God's creation.


Note: In case you are wondering about the amount of money we are trying to raise here- I did some research and this basically covers just the cruise and the airfare from Pittsburgh to Vancouver or Seattle, the two most accessible ports of departure. This amount would be a big help. If we happen to raise more and can help with hotel accommodations between flights and the cruise, or get a window room, or provide some spending money, all the better. (Or if we have to we can change the plans to less expensive anniversary gift. We'll see what happens) So thank you again SOOO MUCH for the help.
