Help Me Get to Europe with Blue Lake International

♪ ♫ Help me get to Europe with Blue Lake's International Band! ♫ ♪

I have gone to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for the past three summers. I have learned a lot, grown as a musician, and made great friends there. This summer, I was accepted into Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp's Northern Winds International Band, which will be touring northern Europe next summer. To be chosen, I had to do an interview and receive strong recommendations from my Blue Lake camp counselors. The cities we will go to won't be decided until next spring, but the trip may include cities in France, Germany, Austria, and Denmark. I am really honored to have been picked. This will be a wonderful experience and a tremendous educational opportunity for my musical career.

As you can probably guess, this trip is pretty costly. My parents and I would greatly appreciate contributions of any size that you might be able to make to help me get there. I have taken on extra paper routes, am collecting cans, and will be holding some fundraisers to help my parents pay for the trip.

About Me

I am 13 years old and a freshman in high school. In addition to playing music, I love to draw, and I am an honor student. Music is a huge part of my life, and I know going on this tour will help me grow as a musician. I have been in my school band since fifth grade. Clarinet is my primary instrument, but I also play flute, guitar, and bass guitar. Since last spring, I have been playing bass guitar in the high school jazz band in addition to playing clarinet in the symphonic band. I have received the highest possible awards in all solo and duo Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association evaluations I have participated in, and I have been in the MSBOA District 1 Honors Band. I am also involved in local theater, and I'm currently working as stage director for the upcoming production.
