Hey everyone,
Some of you may know that I hurt my back fairly badly in 2011. Turns out my L4/L5 is bulged and my L5/S1 is bulged and torn, pinching my sciatic nerve. I have had 6 steroid epidurals so far. They just make the pain killers last for about 3 hours at a time, and the other 5 hours I am in immense pain. That is, when they actually work. If I spend any length of time walking, driving, standing or sitting for long periods I am completely incapacitated for the next day or so. Normally about the time I need a new shot, I am walking with a cane, and have no relief from the nerve medicine and pain killers. I have become a candidate for an out patient surgery, but I do not have medical insurance. I have a discount plan that will only cover up to $500 for the surgery. The last quote I received would be about $15,000 for the surgery. Please help! I need to get this surgery, otherwise I will be in excruciating pain, indefinitely. Thank you for your help!
