Help Cynthia McWilson Cancer Fund

Completely out of the blue I got diagnosed  with Breast Cancer.  Being a health care professional made it difficult for me as we can sometimes be the worst patients.

One day I was working out at the gym and noticed a pain in my left breast and I knew I needed to get checked out. I did research and tried not to diagnose myself.   I had had a mammogram several months ago and everything was fine.   Being a Registered Nurse, made it difficult to not self-diagnose myself.   I went to the doctor a few weeks later when they were able to get me in and my suspensions were confirmed, completely out the blue I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  So many feelings and questions erupted, why me, how am I going to tell my 3 sons, how am I going to tell my mom, how am I going to tell other family and friends.  My support sysem has been very strong and supportive.

December 2017, I had my last chemo therapy treatment right after my 55th birthday.   The most devastating thing other than telling my family I had Breast Cancer was losing my hair, not being able to work, and wondering how I am going to pay my bills.  I started Herceptin treatments and my hair is slowly staring to grow back.

On February 13, 2018. I opted to have a double mastectomy because my breast tissue is dense, I don't want to go through another surgery and that will give me peace of mind.

Throughout this journey I have had some major ups and downs and medical setbacks.   One week after my double mastectomy at my follow up, I was informed that I made the right decision to have both breast removed as they found cancer cells in the right one as well.   I am now cancer free, have a great prognosis and will continue with hormonal treatments until September 2018.  Two weeks after my surgery I am now going to have to have another surgery on February 27, 2018 to remove dead tissue due to complications from my double mastectomy known as Necrosis.  This will push m recovery back out 6 weeks.

As time goes on I have Medical bills mounting up, living expenses and I am asking for any amount to help me.  Thank you all for reading my story and your help.  Than you al for the prayers and most of all THANK GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS.
