120 Miles For Donosti Cup 2025

Donation protected
We are a group of football-mad mates heading to San Sebastián, Spain, to compete in the Donosti Cup 2025, one of the world’s biggest and most exciting international youth football tournaments. With over 90 teams in our age group, we’ll be proudly representing the UK as the only British team in the entire competition.

You may wonder why our team is called Local Legends Ibiza. To enter the Donosti Cup, teams must be part of an official academy or a club playing in a recognised domestic league. We’ve worked closely with the Local Legends Academy to make this dream a reality, while still flying the flag for the UK.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to test ourselves against international teams, learn as much as we can, and hopefully go far - maybe even win! We’re going not just to take part, but to compete with pride, improve as players, and make lifelong memories.

Although our school has been incredibly supportive, organising this as an official school trip wasn’t possible, as these usually take over a year to plan. So we took matters into our own hands. With help from our families, we’ve entered the tournament, and secured some brilliant backing - now we’re asking for your help to get us over the final hurdle.

Thanks to the generous support of Simpson Spence Young, we have covered the majority of our main team kit. But we still have a shortfall to cover - including travel, accommodation, tournament fees, and other essential costs - to make sure that every single teammate can be there.

To help raise the rest, we are taking on a team challenge: running over 120 miles between us, more than a quarter marathon each. We are doing this by running our school’s 6.5k steeplechase course twice, tracking it all on Strava. It won’t be easy - especially with temperatures in the mid 20s over the next couple of weeks, on top of schoolwork, sports commitments, and extra pre-tournament training sessions, but we are giving it everything.

We are so excited to get out there, and we would love for you to follow our journey. We’ll be sharing a way to follow our progress while we are at the tournament, and we hope you will cheer us on from home.

Every donation, however big or small, helps get us to Spain, to represent the UK, and to chase our dream on one of youth football’s biggest stages.

Thank you for your support - it means everything to us.
