Emalee's on A Mission to Mars!

WHERE IS EMALEE GOING?!

Emalee has been nominated and chosen to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM! "Mission to Mars"

For those of us who aren't as smart as Emalee, (STEM) stands for science, technology, engineering, mathmatics, and for those of you who know Emalee, know she's really interested in these subjects and great at them too!  Her academic skills and leadership potential is recognized in the classroom and has awarded her the opportunity to be among the nations brightest middle school cohorts who are talented in STEM to recieve training, networking, and mentoring at the countries finest colleges and universities.  Emalee has chosen to attend this summers leadership forum at Emory University!


I know!! She's sooooo cute.  And definately mad at me right now for adding this picture:) 

What Will Emalee Be Doing At NYLF?  I'm so glad you asked! 

-Guided Field Studies in engineering: robotics and civil design, structure, and programming.

-Interaction with STEM pioneers and former Astronauts ina career exploration panel.

-Use latest technology to play with creating solutions for the challenges associated with colonizing Mars.

-Practice medical techniques in a realistic situation.

-Examine ethical frontiers of 21st century science.

-Learn skills to succeed at college and life including time management, conflict resolution, collaboration, public speaking, and how to create apersonalized success plan to help in preparation for academic challenges in the future.

I think it goes with out saying, but I'll say it, this is an incredible opportunity for our intelegent, kind, funny, and creative young lady to connect into who she is, what she loves, make new friends, and have this chance to grow!
Let's all be a part of sending her to Mars...Today to play, tomorrow  to perform the first robotic succulant genome transplant. just saying.
