11 Million Steps

Summary

On April 15th 2015, venture with us as we embark on a 2,200-mile backpacking trip from Springer Mountain in Georgia, to Katahdin Mountain, in Maine.  The journey better know as the Appalachian Trail stretches through 13 states in the NE section of the United States.  This ambitious adventure will take about 4-6 months to complete.  Life is a journey so what better day to take my first steps than on my 35th birthday; a day of re-birth and new beginnings as well as a reminder that each day we wake up is a new day, a new life, a new journey.  So you might ask, why would someone accept such a challenge?

The Mission

To complete 11 million steps from start to finish, measuring each step to be approximately 1 foot in length.  By inspiring conscious individuals to donate $1 for 1 step, our goal is to raise money that will be equally distributed over 9 selected charities in order to create a positive effect on a global scale

-Next Chapter is a cause-marketing agency focused on developing meaningful, & conscious campaigns that delivers effective change to humanity. Currently based out of Las Vegas, Next Chapter works with businesses and organizations to help develop appealing marketing campaigns, overall brand alignment, and fundraising with modern style techniques

The Trail 

The Appalachian National Scenic Trail, generally known as the Appalachian Trail or simply the A.T., is a marked hiking trail in the eastern United States extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. The trail is approximately 2,200 miles long, and passes through the states of Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The majority of the trail is in wilderness, although some portions traverse towns, roads and cross-rivers.
