Shining a Light's "Women to Work" Program in Arusha, Tanzania has created a training center where the women learn a trade and are educated in areas of empowerment such as Health Care, Money Management, Business and Literacy. Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty by empowering women where they will be self-sustainable, providing for their families and empowering other families in their community.
Our program is looking to expand by teaching the women in sewing and weaving. This fundraiser will help raise funds for expansion by purchasing sewing machines, hiring trainers and purchasing material for the women to train with and later create products that they can sell. We would also like to bring more women into the program increasing the amount of families that will be empowered through Shining a Light.
