Brazil Bound

On March 30, 2012, my little white car pulled up to the curb at South Station in Boston. I threw on my flashers and hurried my friend out of the car, quickly threw my arms around her and wished her luck on her journey to Brazil. As I pulled away I wondered what it would be like to be so bold and to make such an incredible trip. 

Ten days later I picked up that dear friend from the airport. I again threw my arms around her and scurried her into the car. She was quiet and tearful. She had been changed. Her heart bled in the car that night on our way home. She didn't say it, but I knew she left her heart in Brazil. 

In the weeks that followed, stories of her incredible journey spilled out into conversation. The way she spoke of the children and young men she encountered in her travels, made you feel like you had met them, like you too had been to that special place. When she spoke of Brazil the light that shined from her was so bright, it could only be a light from God. 

In case you were curious this friend has a name; Jannell Davis. She has recently been offered the opportunity to serve as a "Volunteer Coordinator" at the City of Youth in Campinas. This position would entail coordinating mission trips and volunteers from the U.S. in order to best utilize specific skills and talents for the benefits of the children at Hope. She will be living and working on the campus for approximately 2 years as an unpaid volunteer. The monthly cost for living expenses such as room and board would be $350.00. The total cost for two years spent in Brazil would be $8,400.00. 

Jannell has asked for nothing but prayer, but I am asking for your help to support Jannell in her mission to do good works.
